In order to protect your property, all members are advised by Marine Police to take the following precautions:

Lock up the cabin and all hatches when your vessel is unattended

Use sturdy and reliable door/window locks or padlocks

Keep all keys in a safe place

Do not keep excessive money or valuables onboard

Lock all water-sport items (eg sailing dinghies, windsurfers, water-scooters) and petrol cans inside the cabin

Mark valuable items and equipment with the vessel's name or license number

Keep a photographic record of all removable valuable items

Install wireless phone or transceiver onboard where possible for emergency communication purposes

Consider installing an alarm system suitable for a pleasure vessel
